Don't Play Leapfrog With Unicorns
The Sign
There is a sign at the edge of every good meadow. Nobody reads it until afterward.
Long ago, or possibly last August, a young person named Barnaby looked at a unicorn and thought: that seems like something you could vault over. The story does not end well for Barnaby’s trousers. It has been passed down as a warning ever since, and this website is where it finally found a home.
Don’t Play Leapfrog With Unicorns collects small warnings about large mistakes. We believe that the world is full of excellent advice that nobody ever writes down. Do not lend things to dragons. Do not accept a riddle from a stranger at a bridge. Do not get into a staring contest with an owl, as it has more practice.
What you will find
The Tales are short illustrated-in-your-head stories about the foolish, the brave and the people who fall into both groups before lunch. They are written to be read aloud, ideally in a very serious voice.
The shop holds shirts, mugs, notebooks and blankets carrying the most important warnings we know, because a warning does no good sitting in a drawer.
What we promise
Everything here is invented and harmless. No unicorns have been inconvenienced. All characters are made up, all our designs are our own, and our jokes are clean enough to read to your grandmother.
